Sourcing Made in Pakistan, wholesale and export

Pakistan's manufacturing clusters are unusually concentrated: a handful of cities produce most of what the country exports. Knowing which city makes what is most of the work of sourcing here.

The clusters

Sialkot — surgical instruments, sports goods, leather. Faisalabad — textiles and home furnishing. Gujranwala — fans, cutlery, light engineering. Multan — pottery and handicraft. Karachi — packaging, chemicals, general manufacturing. Lahore — a mix, and the easiest for logistics. Buying direct from the cluster removes a layer of margin.

MOQ and price tiers

Wholesale listings carry a minimum order quantity and tiered pricing: buy 50 and pay one rate, buy 200 and pay less, buy 1000 and pay less again. The tiers are published on the listing, so the volume discount is visible before you negotiate rather than after.

How an RFQ works

If nobody lists exactly what you need, post a request for quotation describing the product, quantity and target price. Suppliers in that category are notified and reply with sealed quotes — each supplier sees only their own, so nobody is undercutting against a visible number. You compare and award the one you want.

Checking a supplier

Look for verified business status, completed sales, and buyer ratings. Ask for photos of the actual production line rather than catalogue images. For a first order, buy a sample before committing to a container.

Export paperwork

Exporting requires an NTN, a bank account able to receive foreign remittance, and the relevant chamber-of-commerce documentation. Most established cluster suppliers handle their own export paperwork — ask early whether they do, because it changes who bears the cost.
